STEVE VAI

Many of rock's great guitarists, ranging from Jimmi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie, Steve Vai, Petruci, Jason Becker, and others. But it is ga guitar god.
Do you think anyone is a guitar god? and who is best? suggested by
reasons, such as technique, its influence on other guitarists, its influence on the trend, and so on.

we really can not judge a musician at earlier times because there are modern musicians for whom more intense modern musicians, such as Yngwie better than Jimmy hendrik, it makes no difference, but the reply we want is the fair rate may be different answers because of the greatness of modern musicians compared with musicians earlier times because of technological sophistication.

FLEA The Figure of Bassist Players

Stage name is FLEA, but the real name is Michael Peter Balzary.
born in October 16, 1962. He is an Australian born American bassist, trumpet player, and occasional actor. He is best known as the bassist and founding member of the alternative rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. His work with the band incorporates several musical styles, ranging from aggressive slap bass to more subdued and melodic techniques. Aside from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he has collaborated with many artists, including Jane's Addiction, The Mars Volta and Alanis Morissette. Drawing influences from funk and punk rock, Flea centers his bass playing on simplicity and minimalism, viewing complexity as a device that should be used in moderation.

Originally a trumpet prodigy, Flea learned to play bass in high school from close friend and future Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Hillel Slovak, who required a bassist for his band Anthym. Flea joined the group, but quit several months later in order to play for the punk rock outfit Fear. He soon rejoined Slovak to form an intended one-off band along with fellow high school alumni Anthony Kiedis and Jack Irons; the impromptu collaboration would ultimately give birth to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Flea has also made forays into acting, appearing in numerous films such as Back to the Future Part II (1989), My Own Private Idaho (1991), and The Big Lebowski (1998).

Bass Player Profile Billy Sheehan

Billy Boy From Rock to Jazz maybe a freshman in jazz industry, but for the lovers of rock the bassist who is also known as Billy Boy is very famous and he even becomes the senior for young bassists around the world. Who is Billy Boy actually?. Billy Boy is not merely the late 1980s famous rock band, Mr. Big. He is also the founder of jazz band Niacin, along with his two pals: Dennis Chambers (drums) and John Novello (keyboard). It is not a wondering one if Billy decided to taste jazz world, for he thought every kind of music is good, it must be explored and learned. "Moreover, a good musician should be able to play any kind of music. They should not choose one music style only and forget other styles," said Billy to me, long time ago, in a lovely occasion. Ironically, there are many musicians who is fanatic with their music and insult other music extremely. "That doesn't make sense. A musician should not do that," Billy told. Billy is a bassist who is always "thirsty" of knowledge. He won't feel ashamed to learn from his two mates Chambers and Novello. He even always reads jazz literature in order to improve his ability in jazz. Surfing on internet he does patiently also. Billy also tries to visit other countries which still have traditional music. Some countries in Africa, Japan, and even Indonesia have been visited many times.

For Indonesia, Billy said he loves the varieties of Indonesian traditional music. Indonesian traditional music that he loves most is Balinese music. Javanese instrumental music also becomes the collection of his cassettes and CDs. What is the aim of Billy finding the traditional record? It's a simple answer. Jazz needs exploration, inovation, and improvement. So, how can he --and Niacin-- produce the qualified music if he himself does not have knowledge about other music? Exploration, inovation, and improvement can be found easily by learning traditional music, right?. Back to personal, Billy is a huge and great bassist. He can easily change his style. His first carreer happened when he became the member of Talas band. With Talas, he has produced three records. In 1989, Billy became the member of Mr. Big. The first record of this band had been sold for more than 6 million copies. With Niacin, the quality of Billy is getting better. Three jazz albums had been released, Niacin (1997), High Bias (1998), and Deep (2000).

SUBLIME BAND

Sublime was an American ska-punk that originated in Long Beach, California. Founded in 1988, Sublime were Bradley Nowell (vocals and guitar), Bud Gaugh (drums) and Eric Wilson (bass guitar). Lou Dog was the mascot of the band. Sublime achieved major mainstream success with their self-titled third album. Nowell died of a heroin overdose shortly before its release, resulting in the band's split in 1996. Worldwide, Sublime has sold over 17 million albums, including about 10 million in the U.S. alone.

Courtesy : wikipedia.org
Sublime utilized a genre-blending mash-up style which incorporated elements of dub, reggae, ska, punk rock, improvised dancehall, hip hop, psychedelic rock and acoustic rock, which they developed through their live shows. The band is most usually classified as ska-punk, although likely their most prevalent influence, dub reggae, is not directly attributed in such a classification. Sublime's music was highlighted by bass-driven grooves, reggae rhythms, elaborately-cadenced rhyme schemes and transitions between paces and styles throughout a given song, sometimes alternating between thrash punk, ska and reggae within the same song. Their music often contains psychedelic, harmonic minor-based or bluesy guitar solos, rhythmically-improvised bass solos or dub-lines, turntable scratching and rolling drum transitions. According to the band's MySpace site, Rolling Stone writer David Wild stated the following about the band.:

The singular sound of Sublime, alternately polished and rough and ready, finds stoner rock, rap, punk, and hip-hop funk blended with doses of ska, rock steady, dancehall, and every other pungent flavor of reggae. The result was a beautiful, warts-and-all brand of poetry - a powerful new blend of street sounds and party music. In Nowell, Sublime had an astounding singer and lyricist who created his own edgy but expressive underground vernacular. And in Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh, Sublime was fortunate to have an agile, rock-solid rhythm section that could cover the entire musical waterfront. They were musical counterparts that created their own signature rhythmic foundation, creating the ultimate canvas for Nowell to embellish. In February 1996, the band began with the recordings which would comprise their major label debut album. Recording was completed before Nowell died of a heroin overdose on May 25, 1996 at the Oceanview Motel in San Francisco, two months prior to release of their self-titled third record. The album became a huge success, including the single "What I Got", which made it to #1 at the Modern Rock Chart. The album earned the band worldwide fame, and has since gone five-times platinum. Beside "What I Got", the album included several popular singles including "Santeria", "Doin' Time", "Wrong Way" and "April 29, 1992 (Miami)", all of which received heavy airplay.

Heavymetal

Metallica

Metallica is an American heavy metal band that formed in 1981 in Los Angeles. Founded when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an advertisement in a Los Angeles newspaper, Metallica's line-up has primarily consisted of Ulrich, rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, while going through a number of bassists. Currently, the spot is held by Robert Trujillo.

Metallica's early releases included fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship that placed them as one of the "big four" of the thrash metal subgenre alongside Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. The band earned a growing fan base in the underground music community and critical acclaim, with the 1986 release Master of Puppets described as one of the most influential and "heavy" thrash metal albums. The band achieved substantial commercial success with its self-titled 1991 album, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. With this release the band expanded its musical direction resulting in an album that appealed to a more mainstream audience. In 2000, Metallica was among several artists who filed a lawsuit against Napster for sharing the band's copyright-protected material for free without the band members' consent.[1] A settlement was reached, and Napster became a pay-to-use service. Despite reaching number one on the Billboard 200, the release of St. Anger alienated many fans with the exclusion of guitar solos and the "steel-sounding" snare drum. A film titled Some Kind of Monster documented the recording process of St. Anger.
Metallica has released nine studio albums, two live albums, two EPs, twenty-two music videos, and forty-three singles. The band has won seven Grammy Awards, and has had five consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200, making Metallica the only band ever to do so.[2] The band's 1991 album, Metallica, has sold over 15 million copies in the United States, and 22 million copies worldwide, which makes it the 25th-highest-selling album in the country.[3] The band has sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide as of the release of their latest album Death Magnetic. As of September 2008, Metallica is the fifth-highest-selling music artist since the SoundScan era began tracking sales on May 25, 1991, selling a total of 50,111,000 albums in the United States alone.

Judas Priest

Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in 1969 in Birmingham. Judas Priest's core line-up consists of bass player Ian Hill, vocalist Rob Halford and guitarists Glenn Tipton and K. K. Downing; their current drummer is Scott Travis. They have been cited as an influence on many heavy metal musicians and bands.
